I was born on November 11, 1960 to
Leland S. Moore, Jr. & Margaret Holmes Moore in Valdosta, Georgia. I am
the oldest of four children. I have two sisters, one brother, three
nieces and two nephews. My father is still living but my mother passed
away while I was in college. From 1962 to 1967 we lived in Gainesville,
Georgia where my father was a controller for a construction company and my
mother stayed at home with my sister and myself. My family moved back to
Valdosta in 1967 and my father still lives in the same house where we all
grew up. I am 1979 graduate of Valdosta High School and a 1983 graduate
of Valdosta State University where I received a BBA in accounting. I
moved to Atlanta in October of 1983 and have remained here ever since with
the exception of a few years in South Florida and West Virginia. In 1985
I became a CPA and I have practiced as a CPA in public accounting. I
began hearing God’s call in my life many years ago and was blessed to have
worked with many organizations inside and outside the church in a
“ministerial” capacity. I have worked with Head Start, The American Red
Cross, The American Diabetes Association, The American Cancer Society, The
American Heart Association, Youth Work Camps, Senior Citizen Boards, some
Humane Societies and other non-profit groups including serving on several
boards of directors as chairs. I was elected as a “Community Hero” and
was a torchbearer in the 1996 Summer Olympics. My growth in “ministry”
continued and in 1999 I entered seminary at Columbia Theological Seminary
in Decatur, GA. I worked during seminary as a CPA and graduated from
Columbia Theological Seminary in May 2004. During seminary I remained
active in my home church serving on several committees. At Columbia
Theological Seminary I was a member of student government and served as
the Off-Campus Representative and Inter-Seminary Relations Chair. I was
ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church,
USA on March 28, 2004 at Decatur Presbyterian Church in Decatur, Georgia
on behalf of the West Virginia Presbytery. I was a solo pastor at
Marlinton Presbyterian Church in Marlinton, West Virginia from April 2004
to August 2006. I left West Virginia in August 2006 to move back home in
Atlanta. After moving back to Atlanta, I began practicing as a full-time
CPA again and continued my ministry on a part-time basis. I am a
self-employed CPA and Minister of Word and Sacrament with the Presbyterian
Church, USA. I enjoy jogging, bike riding,
lifting weights and almost any outdoor activity. I love the outdoors and
enjoy an active lifestyle. I love the ocean, I am a scuba diver and I
love hiking in the mountains as well. I love to travel and try to take at
least one big vacation every year. Currently, I live and work in the
Sandy Springs area. I recently rescued a cocker spaniel named Sammy. My
fiance’s name is Ilona and she has a thirteen year old son named Andy. I feel blessed that God has given me the opportunity to be at Trinity Presbyterian Church and I look forward to a growing relationship. I am excited and feel very confident about our future together. |
